Cuban Ambassador confirms Cuba's steady position in favor of nuclear disarmament

On August 6th Cuban Ambassador Mario Alzugaray take part in in a event to commemorate the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Cuba confirms the highest priority on the field of disarmament and especially to the elimination of atomic weapons, which was demonstrated by the presentation of the ratification instrument of the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons on January 30th. Cuba was the fifth country to ratify the agreement.

Havana, August 7, 2018. On occasion of the devastating effects of the magnitude 7 earthquake, which affected the island of Lombok, Nusa Tengara, Indonesia, on August 5, the president of the Councils of State and of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent a message of condolences on behalf of the Cuban people and government, to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, which he extended to the families of the victims.
