Condolences to the people of Cuba

The Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union of Trinidad and Tobago would like to extend its sincerest condolences to the government of Cuba and the people of Cuba. Following the unfortunate crash of the Boeing 737 on May 18th, the immense loss of life and the hurt experienced by the people of Cuba cannot be measured and no life can be replaced.

Second Cuba-Belize Medical Symposium held

The Second Cuba-Belize Medical Symposium was held today in commemoration of the 27thanniversary of the Cuba Medical Brigade in Belize. Ambassador of Cuba to Belize, Lissette Perez and Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Angel Campos spoke of the longstanding collaboration between both countries.

Cuba joins the international community in commemorating Africa Day. Africa and Cuba are united by historical ties of brotherhood and solidarity.

As a result of the cruel Atlantic Slave Trade, nearly one million 300 thousand Africans arrived in our Island centuries ago. Their presence made a huge mark on our country. Africa is part of the very essence of our nation. Cubans are a Latin-African people, and we feel extremely proud of our African roots.
