Vice Chancellor Rogelio Sierra is received by the Governor General of Barbados.

The Governor General of Barbados, Her Excellency Sandra Prunella Mason, offered a warm welcome to the delegation headed by Cuban Vice Chancellor Rogelio Sierra, accompanied by the Director of the Caribbean and Central America, Jorge Luis Mayo and the Cuban Ambassador, Francisco Fernández, meeting which served for the congratulatory message sent by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez was extended to her for her recent appointment to that post, while it was reciprocated by the Governor General since he was also recently elected.

The Honorable Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, accompanied by her Chancellor, Senator Jerome Walcott, received Cuban Vice Chancellor, Rogelio Sierra, during his official visit to this country from June 9 to 11, as part of a working tour by several Caribbean islands together with the director of the Caribbean and Central America of the Cuban chancellery, Jorge Luis Mayo, in the framework of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The Cuban ambassador to Barbados, Francisco Fernández, was in attendance.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Simone Rudder, received her Cuban counterpart, Rogelio Sierra, as part of the official visit he made to Barbados between June 9 and 11, accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador in Barbados, Francisco Fernández, and the director of the Caribbean and Central America in the Cuban chancellery, Jorge Luis Mayo.

Graduation of multidisciplinary team for the evaluation and diagnosis of persons with special educational needs associated with disabilities

Georgetown, June 11, 2018. With the participation of the Minister of Education of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana Hon. Dr. Nicolette Henry and the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Guyana Mr. Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro, among other personalities, the graduation ceremony of eight Guyanese specialists was held. They were trained in the area of diagnosis and physical rehabilitation by a group of specialists from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Cuba.

The United States accepts that they do not know the explanation, nature or cause of the health problems reported by its diplomats

On May 29, 2018, the Embassy of the United States in Havana informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba that, on May 27, an official of that Embassy had reported health symptoms as a result of “undefined sounds” in her place of residence.

 Immediately, the Cuban Government gave top priority to the matter and officially requested the Diplomatic Mission of the United States that specialized medical doctors and investigators respectively, could interview said official.
