Pretoria, 19 May 2025 - The Cuban Embassy in South Africa, together with representatives of the medical brigade and UNECA, paid a heartfelt tribute to the most universal of Cubans, the National Apostle José Martí, on the 130th anniversary of his physical departure.

At the José Martí monument in Manila, Philippines, the solidarity friends of the Philippines-Cuba Friendship Society (PCFS), along with Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández, paid tribute to Cuba's national hero and laid a wreath, on the eve of the commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the death in combat of this great Cuban intellectual and patriot.
The monument is a sculpture by Cuban artist Lescay, which was donated to the city on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Apostle's birth.
The United Nations General Assembly’s second informal interactive dialogue on the implementation of the Pact for the Future took place this Monday in New York.
During the event, Cuba's Ambassador and Chargé d'Affaires, a. i. to the United Nations, Yuri Ariel Gala López, reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to the principles of the document agreed on September 2024.
