Cuba and South Africa evaluate the progress of bilateral relations.

Pretoria, 30 October 2025: The Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Mr Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, was received by the Chief Director for the Americas at the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Ambassador Msoliza Bona, for a periodic review of the main issues of bilateral interest. The ambassador was accompanied by Yulian Reyes, the mission's commercial advisor, and Bryan Betancourt, the second secretary in charge of political affairs.

International Community Reiterates Its Condemnation of the Blockade

The Hague, October 29, 2025. The international community reaffirmed its condemnation of the U.S. blockade against Cuba, within the framework of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, by 165 votes to only 7 against.

The support offered by numerous friends in different parts of the world, including the Netherlands and Luxembourg, contributes each year to achieving this important result, which offers new lights of hope to the Cuban people.

Cuba Accuses the United States of "Pathological Lies" to Justify the Blockade at the UN

In a convincing reply before the General Assembly, the Cuban delegation denounced Washington's hostile policy, maintained for more than six decades, as the greatest violation of its people's human rights. Cuba called the US accusations of terrorism and human trafficking "cynical" and affirmed that its government has no involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, thus refuting the narrative by the US administration.
