The meeting was an opportunity to express gratitude for that country's permanent rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba, as well as to convey the greetings of the Cuban authorities.

The meeting served to exchange experiences on the progress made by Latin American countries regarding the participation of native peoples in the political and social sphere, as well as to plan future areas of cooperation and cultural exchange.

Canberra, June 21, 2023. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia met with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in this capital, H.E. Mr. Xiao Qian. The diplomats exchanged on the excellent state of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the historical ties of friendship between Cuba and China.
The Cuban Ambassador expressed her appreciation for China's firm stance against the economic and financial trade blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than six decades.
