Statement delivered by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cuba, H.E. Mr. Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez, during the Ministerial Segment of the Sixty-second Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs
Excellencies, distinguished delegates,
Mr. President,
President, we are pleased to see you presiding over our working sessions, we wish you every success in your work and you can count on the full support of our delegation.
We attend this Ministerial Meeting with high expectations and with the interest of strengthening international cooperation in order to effectively address and counteract the terrible World Drug Problem, which, far from being attenuated, is deepening and intensifying.
Cuba participates in the inaugural session of the Ministerial Segment of the 62nd Commission on Narcotic Drugs at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna
The delegation representing the Government of Cuba in this ministerial event is headed by the Minister of Justice, Mr. Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez, and is also composed of the Permanent Representative of Cuba to the International Organizations based in Vienna, Ambassador Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios; the Deputy Minister of Justice, Mrs. Lilia María Hernández Doejo; the Secretary of the National Drug Commission, Mr.
The Minister of Justice, Co. Oscar Silvera Martínez, the Cuban delegation that will participate in the Ministerial Drug Segment, in Vienna, presides.
The United Nations Office in Vienna will host, on March 14 and 15, the "Ministerial Segment of the Sixty-Second Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs", which will be attended by more than one Thirty high-level representatives of the States Members of the United Nations.This momentous ministerial appointment will aim to take stock of the implementation of all commitments made by the international community in the previous decade to address and counteract the World Drug Problem.
Cuban music returns to Vienna
For this date exactly one year ago, a concert took place in the city of Vienna that unleashed endless emotions among lovers of good music from Cuba.
On May 19, 2018 the renowned Cuban pianist, Roberto Fonseca, made a unique presentation in the Great Hall Konzerthaus of this city, just a few days before, on March 7, in the same space had been an exclusive show with four hands , then the strings of those pianos vibrated and their executors were nothing more and nothing less than Chucho Valdés and Gonzalo Rubalcaba.
CUBA CONDEMNS THE TERRORIST SABOTAGE AGAINST THE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM IN VENEZUELA
DECLARATION OF THE REVOLUTIONARY GOVERNMENT
The Revolutionary Government strongly condemns the sabotage perpetrated against the power supply system in Venezuela, which is a terrorist action intended to harm the defenseless population of an entire nation and turn it into a hostage of the non-conventional war launched by the government of the United States against the legitimate government headed by comrade Nicolás Maduro Moros and the civic and military union of the Bolivarian and Chavista people.
