The U.S. determination to continue NATO’s progressive expansion towards the Russian Federation borders has brought about a scenario with implications of unpredictable scope, which could have been avoided.
United States’ and NATO’s military moves towards regions adjacent to the Russian Federation in recent months, preceded by the delivery of modern weapons to Ukraine, which together conform a military siege, are well known.
The U.S blockade has had significant impacts on the agricultural and food sectors
The food and agriculture sectors constitute the bedrock for achieving food security and sovereignty, two goals that are among the priorities of the Cuban government and are directly linked to the implementation of the National Food Sovereignty and Nutrition Education Plan (SAN Plan) and the fulfillment of the goals agreed upon in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Foreign investment in Cuba under permanent threat of the blockade
Havana, February 21. The United States' economic blockade of Cuba, which to date has cost the country billions of dollars, has prevented an unknown number of foreign companies from investing in Cuba.
This is how Mariluz B’Hammel, director of Trade Policy with North America at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), sees this. She also told Prensa Latina that all the measures of the US blockade have an impact on the entry of foreign capital to Cuba.
