Public Message of Condolence to the Republic of Cuba

The Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas was saddened to learn of the recent tornado in the Republic of Cuba that occurred late Sunday, 27 January, 2019 and which affected low-lying municipalities in the capital city of Havana. We regret the loss of life, injuries and widespread structural damage that resulted from this natural disaster.

Ambassador of Germany pays a courtesy call on Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas

Nassau, 22 January. In a cordial meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in The Bahamas, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hon. Mr. Dr. Bernd von Munch-Pohl paid a courtesy call on the Cuban Ambassador, Ismara Vargas Walter. They both exchanged about the links of their nations with the Caribbean region and in particular with The Bahamas.

 

The 60th Anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution is celebrated in The Bahamas.

Nassau, 28 December 2018. A few hours before the 60th anniversary of the triumph of our glorious Revolution, members of the Association of Cubans residents in The Bahamas "Ismaelillo", accompanied by members of the solidarity group and the Cuban mission celebrated together such a significant date. A warm political and cultural activity at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission was the appropriate framework to exchange on the achievements of the largest island of the Antilles, its solidarity essence and the example radiated by Cuba at the international level.

 

Cuban professor conducts Christmas concert at the Academy of Music of The Bahamas.

Nassau, December 9. The Ambassador of Cuba in the Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, attended a beautiful Christmas concert of The Bahamas Music Academy, conducted by Cuban professor Sydney Campbell Herrera.

With an orchestra composed of musicians of various generations, the audience was delighted with different types of rhythms and melodies, which combined international pieces and the Bahamian Christmas repertoire.

The Director of The Bahamas Music Academy, Courtney Barr, commended the work of Cuban professor and violinist Sydney Campbell.
