British trade union support for Cuban health care

The UK Labour Party's annual conference, held this week in the city of Liverpool, was the first since the party's victory on 4 July after 14 years of Conservative Party (Tory) governments.

The event brought together representatives of Britain's main trade unions, including UNISON and UNITE, which have historically backed Labour. It was also attended by members and leaders of other national unions.

Achievements of Cuban medical internationalism despite the blockade were highlighted in the UK

Cuba’s dedicated health workers have been at the forefront of Cuba’s legendary internationalism and inspired us with what they have achieved at home and abroad despite 62 years of an illegal US blockade. On September 23, I’m delighted to be speaking at a the north-west Cuba Vive Rally at the Casa in my home constituency of Liverpool Riverside.
