Solidarity with Cuba strengthens in north-western Jamaica

MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA, October 8, 2016.Second Secretary in charge of consular affairs at the Embassy of Cuba in Kingston, Rigoberto Zarza Ross, held a fruitful meeting with the members of the Friendship Association Jamaica-Cuba, chapter Montego Bay, during which the attendees paid homage to the key dates of October, in particular, the demise of Ernesto Che Guevara.

Prime Minister of Jamaica demands the end of blockade against Cuba

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, October 7th 2016. Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Most Honourable Andrew J. Holness demanded the end of blockade the United States imposes against cuba, during his address to the 71st period of sessions of the United Nations General ASsembly, in New York. 

“Jamaica realizes that the continuation of the economic embargo against our sister Caribbean country, Cuba, is out of step with recent actions to re-establish diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States.  We therefore call for its early lifting”, stated the Prime Minister.

US blockade effects against Cuban people to be denounced as part of state terrorism.

During a panel discussion broadcast on local television to publicize the program commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Crime of Barbados, several panelists emphasized that the blockade and terrorism are parts of the same policy against the Cuban Revolution and refused to stay in time, when many world leaders say the era of the Cold War is gone.

Cuban struggle against US blockade impacts on Barbadian media.

The prominent political scientist Dr. Joseph Tennyson published in his weekly column in the barbadian newspaper The Nation an article entitled "Persistent blockade" reflecting the strong position of the Cuban people and government against the blockade imposed by the United States nearly six decades ago which is still in force, despite the intention and the limited measures decreed by president Barack Obama.

Secretary (East) of External Affairs of India received the Cuban Ambassador.

INDIA, May 19, 2016.- The Secretary (East) of  External Affairs .H.E.  Ms. Preeti Saran received on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs to H.E. Mr. Oscar Martinez Cordovés, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in India.

During the meeting both sides reviewed the positive bilateral ties and the possibilities for strengthening them in the tourism sector, health, pharmaceuticals, etc., working together with the full support of India to advance these objectives.

Cuba and India exchanged on multilateral issues

INDIA, April 12sd, 2016.- The Ambassador of Cuba in India, Oscar I. Martínez Cordovés, held a meeting whit the Joint Secretary UNES (Economic and Social Affairs United Nations) Puneet Agrawal, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the occasion, they examined issues related to the successful and growing cooperation in multilateral affairs that has existed between both countries for 56 years, and other international relations matters.

US Blockade against Cuba Condemned in India

India, Mar 4 2016. The Church of North India (CNI) a Protestant denomination with more than 1.5 million faithful, condemned today the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed the United States against Cuba for more than 50 years.

During a religious ceremony at a temple on the occasion of World Day of Prayer, this year devoted to Cuba, Communication Secretary of the CNI, Sushma Ramswami, demanded the end of this punitive measure.
