LAS BAHAMAS, 12 May 2017. In the evening of 11 May, the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Dame Marguerite Pindling, conducted the swearing-in ceremony of the new Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Honorable Dr. Hubert Minnis. Accompanied by government officials, members of Parliament, representatives of the Free National Movement (FNM) and constituents, the Prime Minister thanked the Bahamian people and their party for reposing their trust in him.
Cuban sailing team gets first at event held in The Bahamas
THE BAHAMAS, March 21, 2017.-The Cuban sailing team that participated in the 2017 Snipe Winter Circuit Championship, held in Nassau, won first place in the contest.
After competing against 16 participants from different countries, the young athletes climbed to the top of the bench. They obtained very high positions in the regattas that took place as part of the tournament.
Nassau, 24 February 2017.- The International Symposium "Equipping Public Institutions and Mobilizing Partnerships for the Implementation of Agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development and the Samoa Road of Small Island Developing States (SIDS)", concluded yesterday in The Bahamas. The event took place between 21 and 23 February in the Bahamian capital.
THE BAHAMAS, 4th November, 2016. – As part of the Caribbean History course, the Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, lectured Bahamian students and teachers at Omega College about the History of Cuba.
At the meeting, the diplomat also provided information on current national developments and the measures implemented in Cuba in the context of the process of updating the economic model.
THE BAHAMAS, September 30, 2016.- Yesterday a meeting with members of the academic Bahamian institution Global Conversations took place at the Embassy of Cuba in The Bahamas.
During the exchange, the representative of the Ministry of Education of Cuba in The Bahamas, Mr. José Reinel García Sánchez, addressed the achievements of the Cuban Revolution in this sector and the excellent relations of collaboration between the two governments.
THE BAHAMAS, 18th August, 2016.- Yesterday, the Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, bid farewell to the five Bahamians students who will go to Cuba to make their college careers in Medicine and Health Technology.
During the ceremony, the students signed the Code of Ethics, as a commitment to observe the discipline that is reflected in that document. Similarly, they appreciated the opportunity that the government of Cuba offers to the students of different nationalities.
