Cuba Reaffirms Bonds of Friendship at the Scottish Parliament

Cuban Minister of Education to participate in the World Education Forum 2025

On April 30, the Embassy of Cuba had the honour of participating in a significant meeting of the Cross-Party Group on Cuba at the Scottish Parliament, with First Secretary Pablo Ginarte offering a wide-ranging update on the current situation in Cuba and the importance of continued Scottish solidarity.

During the meeting, Pablo expressed Cuba’s deep appreciation for Scotland’s principled and enduring friendship, especially in light of the escalating impact of the U.S. blockade and the ongoing inclusion of Cuba on the U.S. list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.

Cuban Ambassador Attends Tribute to New IOC President

Harare, April 29, 2025 – The Cuban Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, attended today's tribute to Kirsty Coventry, former Minister of Sports, Culture, and the Arts of Zimbabwe and new President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Perez Mesa greeted Coventry during the celebration organized by the Ministry of Women's Affairs, Community, and Small and Medium Enterprise Development at the Rainbow Towers Convention Center in Harare.

Foreign Minister Denzil Douglas visits the Cuban Ambassador in Basseterre

On Sunday afternoon, Cuban Ambassador David Rivero and his family received a pleasant visit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this Federation, within the framework of the commemorations for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Cuba. The meeting developed in a fraternal and relaxed atmosphere, was conducive to remembering the historical bonds of brotherhood that unite both Caribbean nations. There are many experiences and anecdotes of Dr. Douglas in his relationship with Cuba, both in his capacity as Prime Minister for 20 years, as leader of the Labour Party and more recently, as Foreign Minister of this Federation since August 2022.

Permanent Secretary of Health of Saint Kitts and Nevis praised the intense work agenda

Curtis Martin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Saint Kitts and Nevis, within the framework of his participation in the V International Convention Cuba-Health, which took place in Havana, praised a parallel agenda that allowed him to dialogue with his Cuban counterpart, visit medical institutions in the capital, meet with some of the university students of his country and also get to know a little of the city that welcomed him for the first time.

Online Seminars in Search of Opportunities between Zimbabwe and Cuba

Harare, April 22, 2025 – Ministries and institutions from Zimbabwe and Cuba continued their online seminars today with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas.

 

Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa attended the second day of these meetings, which included the participation of officials from the Zimbabwean Ministries of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the Cuban Ministries of Foreign Trade and Investment, as well as Paul Chikawa, Head of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Havana.

 

Zimbabwe-Cuba: 45 Years of Brotherhood

Harare, April 20, 2025 - Cuba and Zimbabwe commemorated the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago, just two days after the African nation's declaration of independence on April 18, 1980.
The commemoration of this event was the occasion for a cordial meeting between diplomats from the Cuban mission and executives and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

Cuba present at the celebration of the 45th anniversary of Zimbabwe's independence

Gokwe, April 18, 2025 - Cuba was present today at the official commemoration of the 45th anniversary of Zimbabwe's independence, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in this town in the Midlands province.
The Head of Mission of the Caribbean nation, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, joined the celebration along with the diplomatic corps.
On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of independence, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla sent congratulatory messages to their Zimbabwean counterparts.
