Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee received Ambassador Rogelio Polanco

During his official visit and working trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, was received by Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi.

At the meeting yesterday afternoon, representing the city's leadership, Nguyen Thanh Nghi engaged in discussions with the Cuban Ambassador regarding key areas of cooperation between the two nations. The dialogue encompassed the implementation of significant projects agreed upon following General Secretary To Lam's visit to Cuba in September 2024.

Comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation chaired a meeting to welcome comrade Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, on his courtesy visit to Binh Duong’s leaders. The meeting was also attended by comrade Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

At the reception, comrade Nguyen Van Loi expressed his honor in welcoming the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam.

Vietnam – Cuba rice cultivation partnership thrives

VNA — A golden sweep of ripening rice fields now blankets Los Palacios district, Pinar del Río province of Cuba, heralding a breakthrough in agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

This success story is the fruit of a pioneering partnership between Vietnamese company Agri VMA and local Cuban farmers, surpassing all expectations. In just three months, a 16-ha pilot project cultivating the CT16 rice variety delivered an average yield of 7.2 tonnes per hectare. This achievement is part of a larger 1,000-ha initiative aimed at transforming Cuban rice cultivation.

President of Zimbabwe receives letters of credence from the Ambassador of Cuba

Harare, February 27, 2025- The President of Zimbabwe, Hon. Mr. Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, today received the letters of credence of the Ambassador of Cuba, Her Excellency. Mrs. Susellys Pérez Mesa, with the renewed commitment to strengthen the historic relations between the two countries.

The dignitary ratified the decision to promote ties in new areas of common interest after highlighting the significant cooperation, especially in education and health, as well as the contribution of Cuba to the independence of Africa.

 

Zimbabwe calls for an end to the blockade and to remove Cuba from the list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism

Harare, February 27, 2025- The President of Zimbabwe, Hon. Mr. Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, today demanded the end of the United States blockade of Cuba and its removal from the list of nations that supposedly sponsor terrorism.

   In an emotional exchange after the official ceremony for the delivery of the letters of credence of the Ambassador of Cuba, Her Excellency. Mrs. Susellys Pérez Mesa, the president rejected the policy of unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Caribbean country, from which Zimbabwe also suffers its consequences.

Ambassador of Cuba presents copies of credentials to the chancellor of Zimbabwe

Harare, February 26, 2025 - Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa today presented the credentials copies to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Honorable Prof. Amon Murwira, in a diplomatic ceremony that was attended by other officials of the Foreign Ministry.

 

Both parties ratified the will to strengthen the historic ties between the two countries, which this year commemorate the 45th Anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations.

Cuban ambassador visits the Liberian ministry of health and well-being.

The Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, recently visited the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Liberia, where she met with its executives, and spoke with the Honorable Minister, Dr. Louise M. Kpoto.

All of the those present there, recalled the heroic work of Cuban doctors during the Ebola epidemic, and during Covid, and addressed the possibilities of strengthening the links between this sphere between both nations.
