Cuban residents in St. Kitts and Nevis hold a meeting at the Embassy of Cuba

With the conviction that the Homeland is one and that wherever we are we will be part of it, several topics of great interest were debated this weekend in a meeting with a representation of the Cuban community residing in St. Kitts, Ambassador David Rivero and Ivón Tomé, Counselor in charge of consular affairs in this Federation.

José Martí, Cuba’s National Hero, Honored in Vietnam

On the occasion of the 171st anniversary of José Martí, Cubans and Vietnamese joined together today in the central park-garden Tao Dan, in Hanoi, to pay tribute to Cuban heroe, “an extraordinary politician, ideologist and man of culture of Latin America”.

These are the words that define the National Hero of Cuba on the plaque placed on the bust that perpetuates his memory here, and where the ambassador of Cuba, Orlando Hernandez, recalled the most relevant aspects of the revolutionary trajectory of the pro-independence hero.

Doctors from Saint Kitts and Nevis receive specialty scholarships granted by Cuba.

As usual, every year the Embassy of Cuba in St. Kitts and Nevis organizes a meeting   with the young people of this Federation who benefitted from the Scholarship program that the Cuban government grants as part of the cooperation agreements between Cuba and CARICOM member countries. On this occasion, four medical doctors who graduated in Cuba will soon begin a new period of studies on the island. They will study the medical specialties of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Geriatrics and Gerontology, Gastroenterology and Radiology, starting in February.

New health cooperators join the Cuban Medical Brigade in Saint Kitts and Nevis

Two new health cooperators from #Cuba arrived in St Kitts this weekend to join the Medical Brigade that has been providing its services in this Federation for more than two decades. With these new additions there are 16 professionals who, with a humanistic vocation and unwavering commitment, continue to give life to this sister Caribbean nation.

Vietnamese leaders extend congratulations to Cuba on 65th National Day

Leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and National Assembly on December 31 cabled messages of congratulations to their Cuban counterparts on the 65th National Day of Cuba (January 1, 1959 - 2024).

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and President Vo Van Thuong extended their congratulations to First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

Ho Chi Minh City's friendship association works to strengthen Vietnam - Cuba relations

The Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association's chapter in Ho Chi Minh City (VCFA HCMC) will continue to promote people-to-people diplomacy activities to increase understanding between the people of Vietnam and Cuba as well as between Ho Chi Minh City and Cuban localities in particular, contributing to further intensifying the special relations between the two countries. This orientation was approved at the 3rd congress of the association for the 2023-2028 tenure held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 28.

Tribute to Fidel in Sri Lanka on the seventh anniversary of his physical departure

Colombo, November 25, 2023.  Organized by the Association of Sri Lankan Graduates in Cuba and the Cuban embassy, an event of remembrance and tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, was held on the seventh anniversary of his death, which is commemorated this November 25.
At the event, headed by the Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés González Garrido, and by Chiththadhamma Rathnamudali, President of the Association of Sri Lankan Graduates in Cuba, a well-deserved tribute was paid to Fidel's legacy and his historical relevance.

For the fourth time, Cuba is presenting a report to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the Human Rights Council. The national report that we are presenting today is the result of a broad and participatory process of consultations with government institutions and organizations of our civil society. Of the 226 recommendations accepted during the former Universal Periodic Review, 215 -that is, 95 per cent- have been implemented.  We are making progress in the implementation of the other 11.
