The second edition of the Iberoamerican Film Festival in Cyprus has been inaugurated

The inauguration of the second edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival in Cyprus was held last Tuesday night, 21 May 2024. This event was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Ibero-American embassies accredited in the country (Brazil, Cuba, Spain, Peru and Portugal), the Cervantes and Camões Institutes, and the Cyprus Film Friends Association. This year, the country to which the festival was dedicated was Brazil.

Ambassador of Cuba holds a meeting with the President of the Cyprus Peace Council

The Ambassador of Cuba in the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero, held a meeting with the President of the Cyprus Peace Council at the premises of the Embassy, following his visit to Cuba.

In the meeting, Mr. Costeas informed the Ambassador on the details of his visit to Cuba and his thoughts on the actual situation in the country and visible effects of the blockade imposed by the United States.

That the US immediately remove Cuba from the list of countries that "allegedly sponsor/support terrorism".

The World Federation of Trade Unions once again joins the struggling people of Cuba, its workers and government in their just and longstanding demand that Cuba be permanently removed from the list of countries that "allegedly sponsor/support terrorism".

Even the recent US Secretary of State's report does not include Cuba among the countries that "do not cooperate with US counter-terrorism efforts", as it has been slanderously included in previous years.

Cuban Ambassador attends panel discussion about Palestine

Nicosia, 18 May 2024 - The Cuban Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero attended on Saturday 18 May 2024 a Nakba commemoration event in Eleftheria Square and later a panel discussion about Palestine under the slogan ‘We demand peace. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people", in the framework of the Femme Fest Cyprus organised by POGO in the Municipal Gardens of Nicosia.
