Commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution in Nicosia
Cyprus, January 16, 2019. - Organized by the Friendship Association of Cyprus with Cuba and the Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL, according to its acronym in Greek), an emotional ceremony was held in Nicosia in honor of the 60th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

The Cyprus-Cuba Friendship Association salutes the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution and expresses its solidarity with the people and leadership of Cuba. The Revolution marked the overthrow of Batista's dictatorial regime and the beginning of socialist construction in Cuba, the first socialist state in the Western hemisphere.

Cyprus, October 11, 2018. - The General Secretary of the Workers' Progressive Party (AKEL), Andros Kyprianou, received the Cuban ambassador in Nicosia, Omar Leyva, at the organization's headquarters whom he updated about various activities carried out by that political force, among other topics.

Cyprus, October 2, 2018. - The President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent a congratulatory message to his Cypriot counterpart, Nicos Anastasiades, on the occasion of the 58th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Cyprus.
Likewise, the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, also congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Mediterranean island, Nicos Christodoulides, at the same time that he ratified the will to continue strengthening the friendship and relations between both countries.
