Members of the Barbados Solidarity Movement signed a declaration of support for the end of the blockade and the removal of Cuba from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.

Today, 26 December, members of the Barbados-Cuba Friendship and Solidarity Association and the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration signed a declaration of support for an end to the blockade and the removal of Cuba from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.

The floating book fair “Logos Hope” opens its doors during its stay in Barbados.

On November 14, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Yanet Stable Cardenas and Olga Dalmau Gonzalez, Consul of Cuba in Barbados, attended the official opening ceremony of the floating book fair “Logos Hope”. The vessel will stay in Barbados for about four weeks for the enjoyment of Barbadian nationals who enjoy the habit of reading.

On November 12, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Yanet Stable Cárdenas and Olga Dalmau González, Consul of Cuba in Barbados, held an interesting exchange with students from several Caribbean countries studying Political and Social Sciences at the University of the West Indies (UWI).

UN vote in favor of the Resolution Necessity of ending the blockade against the people of Cuba.

Representatives of the Cuba-Barbados Solidarity Movement and the Parliament of Barbados and members of the State Mission attended today, October 30, at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Barbados to watch the live transmission of the United Nations vote on the Resolution “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”.

Celebration in Barbados of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográfica de Cuba-ICAIC.

As part of the activities to commemorate the Day of Cuban Culture, on October 25 the Embassy of Cuba in Barbados celebrated the 65th anniversary of the founding of ICAIC by screening the film “Cuba Libre” at the Cinematheque of the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Barbados.

October 20, Cuban Culture Day.

Cubans celebrate every year, on October 20, the National Culture Day. This date was chosen because on this day in 1868 the Cuban patriot and musician Perucho Figueredo released “La Bayamesa”, a musical work he composed to call the people of Bayamo to combat.  That October 20, 1868, the people of Bayamo sang for the first time the notes of our National Anthem, anthem that accompanied our mambises in the independence struggle and from that day to date Cubans sing with respect and dignity in every act and occasion of solemnity that deserves it.

Barbadian and Cuban youth organizations held virtual meeting

Youth organizations from Barbados and Cuba held a virtual meeting on the impact of the blockade on the lives of Cubans.

A virtual meeting was held between representatives of youth organizations of Barbados and directors of the Union of Young Communist Cubans (UJC).
Young Cubans working in technology centers, sugar industry companies and other sectors of the Cuban economy explained with statistical figures some of the most significant effects caused by the economy.
