The impact of COVID19 can already be measured and will be assessed in the future by the striking numbers of people infected, the unacceptable numbers of deaths, the unquestionable damages to the world economy, production, trade, employment and personal income of millions of people.  It is a crisis that goes well beyond the scope of health.

Urgent COVID-19

Addis Ababa, March 25th 2020. Taking into account the measures announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba and by the Ethiopian government, for the prevention of the COVID-19, the Consular Section of the Embassy of Cuba in Ethiopia has decided to start remote consular services from March 26th 2020 until further notice.

Update of Covid-19 in Cuba (March 24, 2020)

The authorities in Cuba informed on new measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the country.  All schools, including Universities, are closed till mid April.  All foreign sutudents will remain in their hostels following new modalities of education and the public health protocols to prevent COVID-19.

All foreign tourists are banned to enter the territory of the Republic of Cuba.  All commercial flights still available will only transport permanent residents in Cuba and foreign tourists leaving the country.

UPDATE ON THE MEASURES ADOPTED BY CUBA TO FIGHT COVID-19

The President  of the Republic of Cuba, H.E, Mr. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Manuel Marrero Cruz, the Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda and other members of Cabinet updated the Cuban population on March 20, 2020 on the new measures adopted by the country to prevent and fight the pandemic COVID-19.
