Chairperson of the African Union Commission acknowledges the role of Cuba in Africa

Addis Ababa, May 5 , 2021.  The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AU), H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, received the Ambassadors of the member States of the Latin America and Caribbean Community (CELAC) accredited to the AU.

During the exchangb of views, the African leader acknowledges the role of Cuba in Africa whose "sons gave their blood in faraway countries of their geographic area".  He also expressed appreciation to the several medical brigades from Cuba fighting COVID-19 in African nations.

Cuban Communist Party appreciates the support of the African Union

Havana, April 2021. The Central Report of the Communist Party of Cuba to its eighth congress conveyed its gratitude to the African Union for the consistent support against the blockade to Cuba.

The African regional organization has maintained the approval, for twelve consecutive years, of a Resolution at its Summits in which it calls on the United States of America to put an end its blockade against Cuba.

8th Cuban Communist Party Congress on Africa relations

Havana, April 19, 2021. The eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba that hold from April 16 to 19 at the Havana Convention Center dedicated a paragraph of the international part in its Central Report, to its relations with Africa.

Cuba maintains diplomatic relations with the 55 member states of the African Union and has forged active cooperative ties with most of them.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia receives Ambassador of Cuba

Addis Ababa, April 16, 2021. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Mr. Demeke Mekonnen, received this Friday, the Ambassador of Cuba to his country, Vilma Thomas, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, both representatives exchanged on the good state of relations between the two countries and pointed out the importance of continuing to promote bilateral cooperation in various strategic sectors.

Award to an Ethiopian graduated in Cuba

Addis Ababa, Apr 12 (Prensa Latina) On days like today I'm very grateful of having studied in Cuba since I was a child until university, Ethiopian Civil Engineer Aberra Nigussie, who won an award in his country for the construction of the Lame Diary complex, said on Monday.

I owe my life, my sentiments and values, my performance and professional success to my father Fidel Castro, to my beautiful island and to its entire people, who welcomed me like a son, he told Prensa Latina in perfect Spanish.
