In Havana, IV Conference “The Nation and Emigration” begins
The IV Conference “The Nation and Emigration” began this Saturday as part of the continuous and irreversible strengthening of ties between Cuba and its nationals abroad. The opening session, at the Convention Palace, was attended by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
45 years after that first dialogue in 1978 promoted by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the IV Conference “The Nation and Emigration” began in Havana, which on Saturday and Sunday will bring together nearly 400 Cubans residing in different parts of the world. When the President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez entered the plenary hall of the Convention Palace, a diverse and plural audience, standing, exclaimed Viva Cuba!, Viva Cuba!... with the force with which the Children love the land where they were born.
The international community will always be able to count on Cuba to defend peace and multilateralism and promote the enjoyment of all human rights for all
I bring from Cuba a message of solidarity and support for the Palestinian people. The indiscriminate attacks against the civil population and the United Nations workers; the bombings against hospitals, ambulances and schools and the mass destruction of housing and vital infrastructure are a collective punishment as well as a serious violation of International Humanitarian Law. We stand in solidarity with all victims and share the grief of the Arab and Hebrew communities in Cuba. These are war crimes and crimes against humanity that must be stopped now. The international community must force an immediate ceasefire in the light of the veto which paralyzes the Security Council thus ensuring the criminal impunity of this genocide.
