Fruitful exchange between Cuban Ambassador and Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs
The Ambassador of Cuba to The Gambia, Lázaro Herrera, was welcomed in the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, by the Honorable Minister Mr. Ousainou Darboe, with whom the visitor held a fruitful exchange that included the support to the fight against the blockade on Cuba, as well as the development of bilateral ties and other issues of common interest.
Minister of Agriculture Receives Cuban Ambassador
Banjul, May 15, 2017. The Minister of Agriculture of The Gambia, Hon. Omar A. Jallow, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Lázaro Herrera Martínez, on Thursday
morning, May 11 at the Ministry's headquarters.
During the cordial meeting the Cuban diplomat congratulated the new minister for his appointment as head of this ministry and expressed the willingness of the Cuban government to work for the strengthening of bilateral ties in all possible
sectors, including agriculture.
Speaker of the Gambian parliament receives the Ambassador of Cuba
Gambia, May 16, 2017. - The Speaker of the National Assembly of The Gambia, Honorable Mariam Jack Denton, received the Cuban ambassador in that country, Lázaro Herrera Martínez, at the headquarters of parliament on Tuesday, May 16.
Friends of solidarity movement reaffirm commitment to Cuba
Banjul, May 13, 2017. Members of the Gambia-Cuba Friendship Association and the José Martí Association of Graduates in Cuba met on Saturday May 13 at the island's diplomatic mission to once again express their support to the Cuban Revolution.
Amongst those who spoke, the president of the Gambia-Cuba Friendship Association, Mr. Modou P. Grant, highlighted the support of the Gambian solidarity movement for all the battles fought by the Cuban people, especially the fight against the blockade and more recently for the liberation of the Cuban Five.
Vice Chancellor of the University of the Gambia visits the embassy of Cuba

Professor Dr. Faqir Muhammad Anjum Chaudhry, Vice Chancellor of the University of The Gambia, visited the embassy in Cuba and held a working meeting with the Cuban ambassador to that African nation, Lázaro Herrera Martínez. Dr. Faqir was accompanied by Professor Ousman Nyan, Provost of the School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences of the aforementioned university.
