In March 2024, the company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales S.A. (YPF) of the Republic of Argentina informed the airline Cubana de Aviación of its refusal to continue supplying fuel to its aircrafts, in application of the United States blockade against Cuba.

Geneva, April 23, 2024 - At the 24th meeting of the Council of Representatives of the South Center in Geneva, Switzerland, the Permanent Mission of Cuba recognized the Center's contribution to Cuba's chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China during the year 2023.
World Meteorological Organization and Cuba ratify formal bilateral cooperation agreement
Geneva, April 23, 2024 - The new Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Celeste Saulo, welcomed the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Cuba in Geneva, Juan Antonio Quintanilla Román.
The meeting confirmed the good state of the organization's bilateral relations with Cuba, and in particular with its meteorological service, the Institute of Meteorology.

Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío Domínguez headed the Cuban delegation and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the State Department's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs Eric Jacobstein led the U.S. delegation.
