Cuba denounces at UNCTAD the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US.
Geneva, 14 February 2024 - The Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland actively participated in the 75th executive session of the Trade and Development Board of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), which took place from February 12 to 14.
During the meeting, the Cuban delegation denounced the persistence and strengthening of unilateral coercive measures against countries, such as the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the U.S. administration has maintained against the Caribbean island for more than six decades. Measures of this nature hinder the full development of nations and threaten the quality of life of their populations, the Cuban delegation emphasized.
