Distinguished delegates and guests,

 

I am honoured to attend this historic gathering, on the soil of the sister Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda, to which we are bound by enduring ties of friendship.

 

Since the adoption ten years ago of the Samoa Pathway, new and greater challenges have emerged.

 

The United States has to take Cuba, once and for all, out of the list of states allegedly sponsoring terrorism

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

According to U.S. official media reports, on 15 May 2024, the country’s State Secretary submitted to the Congress one more of the arbitrary reports that normally describe countries without any international mandate or recorgnition. This time, he listed four countries who allegedly “do not fully cooperate with the United States antiterrorist efforts for the 2023 calendar year.” As opposed to what has happened in recent years, the list does not slanderously include Cuba among such countries.

Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister arrives in Cuba today.

Havana, May 14th, 2024. - The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, H.E. Mr. Yván Gil Pinto, arrived in Cuba on an official visit on Tuesday, May 14th.

 

As part of his programme in Cuba, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister will hold talks with his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and other Cuban authorities.

XVI Meeting of the Working Group on Migratory and Consular Affairs between the Republic of Cuba and the United Mexican States begins.

Havana, May 14th, 2024. - The XVI Meeting of the Working Group on Migratory and Consular Affairs between the Republic of Cuba and the United Mexican States took place this Tuesday, chaired by Carlos Fernández de Cossío Domínguez, Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Laura Elena Carrillo Cubillas, Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, respectively.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has learned, with deep concern, about the judgment delivered by a judge of the Court of the District of Columbia in the United States on May 1st, 2024, who acquitted Alexander Alazo Baró of the four charges he faced as a result of the terrorist attack he had perpetrated against the Cuban Embassy to the United States during the early hours of morning of April 30, 2020, claiming the insanity of the perpetrator.
