An original act of presentation of the book José Martí and “the Greek” took place last Friday night (10/12) in the city of Veria, Central Macedonia, Greece, located more than 500 kilometers north of Athens, where actors and musicians let us hear, live, musicalized fragments of the aforementioned work. It was an unexpected, exciting moment.

The virtual Summit convened by the government of the United States on December 9 and 10 last, with pre-recorded speeches by the guests and a totally manipulated agenda, was a demagogical exercise which rendered zero benefits for the international community and failed to make any proposal to solve the most pressing global problems that we all share.

It is my distinct honour, in my capacity as Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), to address the People and Governments of CARICOM and Cuba on the Forty-Ninth Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between our Countries. Today reminds us of that symbolic and courageous historic act of Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago on 8 December 1972, that has evolved over the years into a fruitful and mutually beneficial relationship based on solidarity.

Just when the 125th anniversary of the fall in combat in Punta Brava of Antonio Maceo, the Bronze Titan, and Panchito Gómez Toro, students and professors of the University of Kalamata and friends of Cuba in this historic Greek region met in the Central Amphitheater of the University of Kalamata to participate in the second public presentation of the book José Martí and “the Greek”

Cuba reaffirms solidarity and integration with Caricom

Havana, December 8, 2021.- Cuba reaffirmed today its commitment to solidarity and integration with the countries of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) to commemorate 49 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
On the occasion, President Miguel Díaz-Canel evoked on Twitter a thought from Cuban historical leader, Fidel Castro, who inspired the ties with the nations of the area.
