President of Cuban Parliament receives visiting MEPs
Havana, February 1, 2022.- The president of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), Esteban Lazo, today received a delegation of European Parliament members and of the group La Izquierda, who have been visiting the Caribbean island since yesterday.
The meeting took place at the National Capitol (headquarters of the legislative body), which according to the German MEP Martin Schirdewan, heading the group, will allow deepening the political dialogue and strengthen the bilateral relationship of the legislative entities.
Schirdewan described as positive the opportunity to observe during these days the popular consultation on the Family Code, “a process that denies the Western narrative that in Cuba the voice of the people is not heard.”

Celebrating the 63 years of the Cuban Revolution, the Diethnes Vima publishing house organized an event based on two books published by this publishing house with speeches and writings by Che entitled: Che Guevara speaks to the young and Socialism and man in Cuba. The speakers were; Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Magdalini Lapa, Natasa Terlexi-Editorial Diethnes Vima, Nikos Karandreas-President of the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity.
Family Code with topics of interest for Cubans abroad
Havana, January 21, 2022.- The Family Code project to be debated in Cuba between February and April will include issues such as the flow of travelers and the transnationality of the Cuban family.
Ernesto Soberón, general director of Consular Affairs and Cubans Resident Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed in a broadcast on Facebook that due to their experiences of living in Cuba and later in other societies, nationals residing abroad will make an important contribution to the debate of the legal body.
