Georgetown, August 12, 2020. The new Minister of Agriculture of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. Hon. Mr. Zulfikar Mustapha received in courtesy call the Ambassador of Cuba to Guyana, H.E. Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro.

The meeting was held in a fraternal and mutually supportive environment and it was agreed to continue strengthening the relationship, in this sector, between both countries.

The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz- Canel Bemúdez congratulated the new President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Dr. Mohammed Irfaan Ali and expressed the will to continue strengthening the historical ties that unite the peoples of Guyana and Cuba.

Cuban citizens stranded in Guyana return to their homeland

Georgetown, July 6, 2020. Early this morning, a group of 135 Cuban citizens stranded in Guyana due to the COVID-19 pandemic flew to Havana on board Flight BW 3437 of Caribbean Airlines. It has been scheduled to arrive in the country's capital at 1:10 p.m.
