Ambassador of Cuba to Malaysia welcomes new Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry

Kuala Lumpur, February 15- Cuba's ambassador to Malaysia, Ibete Fernández hosted a working lunch to welcome the new General Secretary of the Chancellery, Dato Ramlan Ibrahim, on behalf of GRULAC.

At the meeting the Secretary General thanked the initiative and offered his collaboration to work closely with the group of Latin American and Caribbean countries to strengthen their country's relations with the region. He also commented on the new work styles that the Malaysian Foreign Ministry will adopt to become an effective ally of the work carried out by the heads of missions.

Chief Minister of Perak shows interest in Cuban biotechnology

Kuala Lumpur, February 9 – The Chief Minister of  Perak, Dato Sri Zambri Abdul Kadir, conveyed to the Cuban ambassador in Malaysia, Ibete Fernández, the interest of the state government to develop the biotech industry and to have the experience of Cuba for that. In the same vein, the Perakian Minister of Health spoke in the brief exchange he had with the Cuban diplomat.

Malaysia reiterates interest in closer relations with Cuba

Kuala Lumpur, February 3rd - Ambassador Dato Kennedy Jawan, the Director of America for the Malaysian Foreign Ministry, received a courtesy call from Cuban ambassador Ibete Fernández.

During the meeting, Kennedy reaffirmed Malaysia's interest in increasing relations with Cuba, not only in the political sphere but also in cooperation. In this sense, he spoke to increase the exchange of delegations in both directions and to explore together with Cuban authorities new possibilities of collaboration.

The Cuban Ambassador visits the University of Brunei Darussalam

Kuala Lumpur, January 31st – The ambassador of Cuba designated to Brunei, Ibete Fernandez, visited to the University of this Country and held a meeting with its president, Datin Anita Abdul Aziz.

During a tour of the center, the Cuban ambassador visited the medical school, the only one that the country has and explained about the possibilities of collaboration with BIOCUBAFARMA.

He also visited the new library of the university, accompanied by its director who requested to receive books on Cuba to provide students with knowledge about our country.

Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Brunei receives Cuban ambassador

Kuala Lumpur, January 31st- The Permanent Secretary and Protocol Director of the Brunei Foreign Ministry, Dato Mohamed Nor Jeludin, welcomed the Cuban ambassador appointed in that country, Ibete Fernandez, on a courtesy call.

During the meeting, Dato Jeludin welcomed the Cuban ambassador to Brunei and ratified his country's willingness to expand ties with Cuba. He also praised the state of political relations and recognized the existence of numerous possibilities for diversification. He mentioned as possible sectors of health and sports, given the experience and prestige of Cuba.
