Traditional Tet Reception Held at the Vietnamese Embassy

It was with great pleasure that I joined the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Greece, Her Excellency Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong, for the traditional Tet celebration.

The gathering, held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Athens, was attended by representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps, members of parliament, and prominent figures from various social, cultural, and political institutions, as well as business leaders and others. Members of the diplomatic mission and members of the Vietnamese community residing in Greece were also present.

The "Sakis Karagiorgas" amphitheater at Panteion University in Athens hosted a solidarity rally with the peoples of Cuba and Venezuela, organized by the Popular Left Unity – Unsubdued.

In a moving and supportive atmosphere, the hundreds of participants who filled the hall rejected the criminal aggression carried out by the United States government against Venezuela and the growing threats it has been making against the Cuban people and their Revolution.

With great emotion and solidarity, I signed the book of condolences opened at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in honor of the victims of the illegal and criminal aggression carried out by the United States against that sister nation on January 3, 2016, which culminated in the kidnapping of the legitimate president of that country, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and his wife, Cilia Flores.

We have always been willing to engage in serious and responsible dialogue with the various US administrations, including the current one, on the basis of sovereign equality, mutual respect, principles of international law, mutual benefit without interference in internal affairs, and with full respect for our independence.
