The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Lucia, Alejandro Simancas, presented to the main media of this country the resolution, approved yesterday in the United Nations General Assembly, which calls for an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the largest island of the Antilles.
A group of Cuban health specialists working at the Victoria Hospital in Saint Lucia who will conclude their mission in the next few days were honored and bid farewell by the management of the Health Centre. The meeting was attended by Doctor Alisha Eugene, Medical Director of the Center and Nancy Charles, Executive Director, who had words of praise for the dedicated work and commitment shown.
Saint Mary, Jamaica, 14 November 2019. As part of the program of activities developed in the parish of Saint Mary, the Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, met with Fredrick Young, President of the Chamber of Commerce of that town; as well as with leaders of the Parish Development Committee and other representatives of the business community.
Young referred to the historical links between Cuba and Jamaica and highlighted the results of the bilateral co-operation received by the latter in sectors like health and education.

The tour included a visit to the monument erected to “Tacky”, a slave leader who led one of the most significant rebellions against Colonialism in the Caribbean region in the 18th century. The Cuban diplomat paid solemn tribute to the African-Jamaican hero and laid a wreath on his monument.

Once again the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States increases its actions against the development of Cuban Tourism, one of the main sources of revenue in the economy of the island. This Wednesday, Trivago, a German transnational technology company specializing in Internet-related services and products in the hotel and lodging fields with head office in the United States, removed Cuba from its search platform due to the U.S. government's restrictive measures.
