KUALA LUMPUR, August 19. It was a pleasure to welcome Mr. Muhamed Salim bin Mohd Ali, Executive Director of the International Tropical Fruit Network (TFNet), to the Cuban Embassy in Malaysia.

The exchange provided an opportunity to explore potential partnerships in the tropical fruit sector.

Mr. Salim discussed the work of the International Tropical Fruit Network (TFNet) and key areas of potential collaboration, including:

• Improving fruit quality for export

• Plant breeding and introduction of new fruit varieties

Vienna, August 21, 2025. - The Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, held a working meeting with Ms. Petra Rund, Head of the Department of International Affairs of the Parliamentary Directorate of the Austrian Parliament.

This meeting is part of the promotion of bilateral relations developed by the Cuban Embassy in Austria, including the promotion of inter-parliamentary relations and between the Secretariats of the parliaments of both countries.

Pretoria, August 21, 2025.- The director of The Forge, Yvone Phillis, visited the Cuban embassy in South Africa. She was received by the diplomatic attaché for Press and Culture, Lauren Luis Acosta, with whom she discussed the possibility of joint cultural, academic, political, and solidarity projects. Both advocated for the strengthening of relations between our countries, based on momentum in these areas.

Brisbane, 21 August 2025 – The Cuban Ambassador to Australia made an official visit to the state of Queensland, strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and this Australian region. The visit, which included meetings with local authorities, community leaders, Cuban community and representatives of the solidarity movement, reaffirmed the commitment of both peoples to promoting cultural, educational, and social exchange.

Vienna, August 20, 2025 - The Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, held a meeting with Mr. Bernhard Achitz, Austrian Ombudsman.

As part of the efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, the meeting analyzed the various possibilities of cooperation that can be established between the Austrian institution and the Ombudsman's Office in Cuba, which was created in 2023.

Roseau, Dominica – August 20, 2025. In a simple yet moving ceremony held at the Auditorium of the University of the West Indies (UWI), eleven young Students from the Commonwealth of Dominica were awarded scholarships to pursue studies in Cuba.

Colombo, Aug 19 (Prensa Latina) Sri Lankan mass media highlighted the denunciation made by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez regarding the presence of US naval and air forces in the southern Caribbean.

 
The Colombo Times newspaper and the World Peace Company (CPM) Media Private Limited website reproduced the Cuban foreign minister’s recent social media post, in which he states that the US military deployment in the Caribbean is being carried out under false pretexts and responds to a corrupt agenda of Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
