Friends of Cuba in Norway denounce the US blockade

Oslo, July 30, 2025. The denunciation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the US against Cuba for more than 60 years and the call for its lifting were a common denominator in the speeches made in the rally convened by the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association at Eidsvoll Square in this city, on the occasion of July 26, Cuba´s National Rebellion Day.

Sri Lankan Student Received Scholarship to Study Medicine in Cuba

Colombo, July 30, 2025. As part of a scholarship program that Cuba offers to Sri Lanka, Ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido welcomed Sonal Madhuwantha Subasinghe Mudiyanselage, a Sri Lankan student selected to travel to Cuba shortly to begin her training at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in September.
The student expressed his satisfaction at having the opportunity to study medicine in Cuba. Other Sri Lankan students are currently at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM).

Top Vietnamese, Cuban legislators pledge stronger ties at Geneva meeting

Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man emphasised Vietnam’s commitment to deepen the traditional solidarity and special friendship with Cuba at his meeting with President of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 30.

At the event, which took place on the sidelines of the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament at the UN headquarters, the Vietnamese top legislator expressed his delight at the robust development of the bilateral relations over the recent past, particularly the close cooperation between the two legislatures.

In the framework of the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments, held in Geneva, the President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernández, held a fraternal and fruitful meeting with the President of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş.

 

Celebrations in the Philippines for July 26th!

Manila, July 26th 2025. The Philippines-Cuba Cultural and Friendship Association (PHILCUBA) commemorated the historic date of July 26th with a beautiful event in Manila.

Filipino solidarity friends celebrated the legacy of the Cuban Revolution in a cultural event featuring Cuban rhythms and dances.

They also remembered our leader Fidel Castro and his dedication to solidarity.

We received with joy and gratitude the message of support from these friends of the Cuba solidarity movement, who have accompanied us in so many international battles.

 

Head of Cuba’s National Assembly participates in World Conference of Speakers of Parliament

Havana, July 29, 2025.- The president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernández, is attending the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, taking place from today until July 31st.

The conference, which will take place at the Palais des Nations (headquarters of the United Nations Office in Geneva), is hosted by the Inter-Parliamentary Union in partnership with the United Nations.

Cuba and South Africa celebrate the 18th Joint Consultative Mechanism

Havana, 29 July 2025. - Today, the 18th Joint Consultative Mechanism between Cuba and South Africa was held at the headquarters of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired by Cuba's First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerardo Peñalver Portal, and South Africa's Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, His Excellency Mr. Alvin Botes.
