Wellington, 8 August 2025 — The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Cook Islands, Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, took part in the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of independence in free association with New Zealand, an event that brought together government authorities, diplomatic representatives, and island communities to commemorate six decades of history, identity, and self-government.

Young Barbadians who will study medicine in Cuba sign the "Code of Ethics for Foreign Students."

This morning, August 8, young Barbadians Tia Zalinda Mitchell and Kwami Hashim Inniss signed the "Foreign Student Code of Ethics" as part of the scholarship process granted to them to study medicine in the Republic of Cuba. This cooperation program has been offered by our country to 159 countries around the world since 1961, allowing young foreigners to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in various fields.

Colombo, August 6.- The Sri Lankan newspapers Lanka Leader and Colombo Times today announced Cuba's invitation to participate in an international festival to address the multiple challenges facing peace and social justice.

Organized by the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, for its acronym in Spanish) in collaboration with its Young Communist Union, the event is titled the Granma Rebelde International Festival and will take place from October 17 to 20 of this year in Havana.

Minister of Education of Saint Lucia bids farewell to young people beginning university studies in Cuba

Union, August 7, 2025—With the presence of the Honorable Shawn Edwards, Minister of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology, and Vocational Training of Saint Lucia, and Senator Pauline Antoine Prospere, Parliamentary Secretary in the High Administrative Body for the Education Sector, the official ceremony was held to award scholarships to the young beneficiaries of this program.

Cuba awarded eleven new scholarships to young people from Saint Kitts and Nevis.

At the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Basseterre, the ceremony for the granting of scholarships to eleven young people from this Federation took place on Wednesday afternoon. They will soon embark on a new path in their student life, on Cuban soil.

It was an endearing meeting, without a doubt, a space in which each of those present came out more convinced of the future they desire for themselves.
