Cuban Ambassador exchanges with Director of Latin America and the Caribbean at the Norwegian Foreign Ministry

Oslo, September 13, 2023. The Cuban Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, paid a new visit to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There she held a fruitful meeting with Anne Heidi Kvalsøren, director of the Section for Latin America and the Caribbean, and John Petter Opdahl, who is in charge of the desk of Cuba.

It was an excellent opportunity to review topics of common interest on the bilateral agenda, in line with the will of working together for the development of the relations existing between the two countries. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)

Cuban Ambassador visited the fish hatchery built in Mariel as result of the cooperation with Norway in the aquaculture sector

Oslo, September 3, 2023. During her recent stay in Cuba, the ambassador Maité Rivero Torres went to the Mariel Marine Fish Farming Experimental Station, belonging to the Cuban Center for Fisheries Research (CIP), to visit the fish hatchery built there as a result of the cooperation existing between Norway and Cuba in the aquaculture sector.

Oslo, September 3, 2023. Along with her colleagues from the Latin American Diplomatic Corps accredited in Norway, the Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, took part in a working meeting with Karina Batthyány, executive director of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO ).

Cuban sociologists join the Norwegian University of Stavanger for Master´s and Doctoral studies.

Oslo, September 2, 2023. A new group of Cuban professors and researchers recently joined the University of Stavanger (UiS) as part of the cooperation project “Wellbeing in Cuba and Norway. Strengthening professional training on social policies and welfare from an intercultural perspective”, in force between the Department of Social Studies of that Norwegian center of higher studies and the Department of Sociology of the University of Havana (UH).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE CONSULAR SECTION OF THE EMBASSY

The Consular Section of the Embassy of Cuba in Norway is temporarily closed, due to vacations of its personnel.

The Embassy of Cuba in Sweden, located in Sturevägen 9, 182 73, Stockholm, is exceptionally responding to the requests for consular services considered as being urgent. A message should be addressed to the e-mail consulado@se.embacuba.se.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

The Electronic Visa System will allow us to offer a more efficient service, facilitating and streamlining the visa application process. If you wish to travel to Cuba for tourism purposes, please note the following steps:

1. All consular fees must be paid to our Bank Account No. 7058.05.79556 DNB prior to requesting the corresponding service. Cash payments are NOT accepted.

2. Make the payment 72 hours in advance of the service.

3. The Consulate will only issue visas/appointments for services once the Bank has confirmed the transfer.

4. The bank transfer must include the name of the person for whom the consular service is being provided, or the traveler if it is a tourist visa, as a reference. The account holder's name is NOT required. Scan the payment receipt with the application; do not use PDFs. The digital tourist visa has a consular fee of 251.00 Norwegian Kroner (NOK), wich must be transferred to account number 7058.05.79556.

5. To obtain tourist visas, please visit: https://evisacuba.cu/en/inicio

6. Visas will be issued to the email address provided by the applicant, in the form of an alphanumeric code, upon approval of the application. This code will be activated when the user accesses the platform: https://dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu/inicio

7. Each applicant for an electronic visa is responsible for possessing a valid passport with a minimum validity of six months and ensuring their personal information is accurate. The Consulate is not responsible for errors made in such cases, nor can it make any necessary corrections.

8. No more than 7 days prior to the flight to Cuba, the traveler must complete the form available at this link: https://dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu/inicio. After completing the form, the traveler will receive a QR code, which must be presented in digital or printed format to the airline representative at the departure airport and also to Cuban authorities upon arrival. This is mandatory.

9. Once the fees for consular services have been deposited into the Embassy's bank account, you have a maximum of 6 months to contact or appear in person at the Consular Office by appointment to receive the service and/or request a refund of any remaining balance.

10. For other visas or other types of procedures, the application form must be completed in full.
