Cuban professors benefit from a cooperation program between the University of Havana and the University of South-Eastern Norway
Oslo, April 3, 2023. The University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Bø and the University of Havana (UH) have started an international cooperation project entitled "Ecological Connections: Cultural Studies in Cuba and Norway (ECOCON)”, led by Dr. Hans Jacob Ohldieck, associate professor of Spanish at the USN, and Dr. Haydée Arango Milián, tenured professor at the UH.
Cuban Head of Mission attends a meeting of the women ambassadors accredited in Norway with the Norwegian Foreign Minister
Oslo, April 2, 2023. Along with her female colleagues from the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Norway, the Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, attended a meeting with the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anniken Huitfeldt.
It was a great opportunity for listening to the Minister's assessments on several topics, such as gender equality, women´s empowerment, the current international situation and the Norwegian foreign policy. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
Cuban Ambassador takes part in a seminar with high authorities of the city of Oslo
Oslo, March 29, 2023. The ambassador of Cuba to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, participated in a seminar organized by the City of Oslo for the Diplomatic Corps.
The words of welcome were given by the Mayor of Oslo, Marianne Borgen. Then, the Governing Mayor, Raymond Johansen, gave a speech on the challenges and priorities for the City Government. The presentations made afterwards by executives from the Climate Agency, the Munch Museum and the Oslo Film Commission were very interesting and thus very much appreciated.
Ambassador attends reception offered by the Norwegian Parliament in honor of the Diplomatic Corps
Oslo, March 24, 2023. The Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, attended a reception offered by the Presidium of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) in honor of the accredited diplomatic corps.
Upon her arrival, the ambassador was greeted, in first place, by the first vice-president of the Storting, Svein Harberg, and then by the rest of the vice-presidents of the legislative body: Nils T. Bjørke, Morten Wold, Kari Henriksen and Ingrid Fiskaa.
