ICAP delegation meets the President of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions in Oslo

Oslo, March 15, 2023. The delegation from the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), made up by Rigoberto Zarza Ross, director for Europe, and Elizabeth Ribalta Rubiera, desk officer at the Northern Europe Group, began its program of activities with a meeting with the president of LO Oslo, Ingunn Gjerstad.

The Cuban visitors received first-hand information on the trade union movement in Norway and the relations of cooperation between LO Oslo and the CTC of Havana.

The Second Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba takes part in a visit to the Norwegian Parliament (Storting)

Oslo, March 13, 2023. The second secretary of the Embassy of Cuba, Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, took part in a visit to the Norwegian Parliament together with some of his colleagues from the Diplomatic Corps.

They had a very useful exchange with officials from the International Department, who offered them extensive information on the structure, composition and functioning of the legislative body, as well as on its work for the development of Norway´s relations with other countries in the parliamentary field.

Special homage to Cuban women living in Norway on the occasion of International Women's Day

Oslo, March 12, 2023. On the occasion of the International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8th, the Embassy of Cuba in Norway received a group of Cuban women living in this country to pay them a well-deserved homage.

The central words were given by Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, Second Secretary in charge of Consular Affairs, who, after recalling the origin and meaning of the commemoration, conveyed sincere congratulations to all the Cuban women, particularly to those gathered there.

Ambassador visits the exhibition "America, present, past, identity", with the presence of Cuba, at the Historical Museum of the University of Oslo

Oslo, March 6, 2023. This weekend, the ambassador of Cuba to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, visited the exhibition "America, present, past and identity", at the Historical Museum of the University of Oslo, dedicated mainly to the peoples of the American continent, especially the indigenous ones.

With the emotion that implies being so close to elements that evoke Cuban identity and culture in such a distant country, the diplomat paid special attention to the showcase dedicated to Santeria in Cuba.

Cuba and Norway review issues on the bilateral agenda

Oslo, March 1, 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba, Maité Rivero Torres, made a new visit to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On this occasion, she held a working meeting with John Petter Opdahl, who, after completing his mission as Ambassador of Norway to Colombia, took over the desk of Cuba at  the Section for Latin America and Caribbean.

They reviewed the main issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as matters of interest at the multilateral level.

Both showed their willingness to work together for the development of the relations between the two countries.
