Director General of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation receives the Ambassador of Cuba
Oslo, January 6th, 2023. The Cuban Ambassador, Mrs. Maité Rivero Torres, was received by Bård Vegar Solhjell, director general of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).
In the meeting, the positive relations of cooperation that have existed between the two countries, in which NORAD has played a key role, were reviewed.
Both parties exchanged on the bilateral collaboration projects implemented in recent years by NORAD in different sectors and the existing potential to achieve new ones in areas of common interest. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
Norwegians in the 64th Nordic Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba fulfill an extensive program of activities
Oslo, December 22, 2022. The Norwegians who are taking part in the 64th Nordic Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba, including Cihan Karakoc, president of the Friendship Association Norway-Cuba, have been very busy these days participating in many activities.
In Havana, a visit to the Fidel Castro Center, an institution created to disseminate, study and investigate the thought and work of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, could not be missed.
Cuban professors and researchers successfully conclude training stays at the University of Stavanger
Oslo, December 20, 2022. In recent days, the group of eight Cuban professors and researchers who were at the University of Stavanger doing training stays as part of their master's and doctoral studies, returned to Cuba.
Within the framework of an international collaboration project existing between the Department of Social Studies of the University of Stavanger and the Department of Sociology of the University of Havana, the Cuban professionals received training courses on different subjects, which they will now have the opportunity to apply and disseminate in Cuba.
Norwegian InFIL Foundation makes a monetary donation to Cuba
Oslo, December 16, 2022. The InFiL Foundation made a monetary donation to Cuba of 500,000 NOK, to help the recovery process from the damage caused by the fire at the Supertanker Base of Matanzas and the hurricane Ian in the western part of the country, particularly in the province of Pinar del Río.
The Norwegian organization decided to do that after realizing that the effects of those catastrophes came to aggravate the negative impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the Island for more than 60 years.
Norway is present in the 64 Nordic Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba
Oslo, December 15, 2022. With a delegation made up of 5 members, Norway is present at the 64th Edition of the Nordic Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba, which began on December 14 and will last until January 2, dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the birth of the Cuban National Hero, José Martí, and the 64th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.
