Message from the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada barracks
On a day like today, 69 years ago, on July 26, 1953, Fidel Castro and his companions led their first organized attack against dictator Fulgencio Batista and the Moncada military barracks in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
The July 26 Movement began the struggle against the US-backed dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. The attack failed and both Fidel and Raúl Castro were captured by Batista's forces. During a court appearance after the incident, Fidel Castro defended himself with his historic plea "History will absolve me."

Today is a signifficant date in the history of the Cuban people in their struggle to throw off the yoke of colonial and imperialist domination. It lead to the revolutionary overthrow of the Batista dictatorship and the independence and sovereignty of the Cuban people, placing all power in the hands of the revolutionary class, the Cuban working class.
Cuba well represented at the 63rd International Mathematical Olympiad "Oslo 2022"
Oslo, July 18, 2022. Cuba was represented at the 63rd International Mathematical Olympiad “Oslo 2022” by Thalía Zayas Suárez and Elvis Cabrera Leal, 12th grade students from the Pre-University Vocational Institutes of Exact Sciences “Vladimir Ilich Lenin”, in Havana, and “Martyrs of Humboldt 7”, in Artemisa, respectively. In two intense days of exams, they demonstrated their knowledge on the complex subject, under the supervision of the experienced Cuban professor Prudencio Guerrero Fernández.
Ambassador conveys congratulatory message for the birthday of the Queen of Norway
Oslo, July 4, 2022. On the occasion of the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen Sonja of Norway, the Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, went to the Royal Palace to convey a message of sincere congratulations on behalf of the Cuban Government and people, and on her own behalf.
