Norway Honors Sailors Fallen During World Wars I and II.

On May 8, at the Memorial to the Norwegian Sailors Fallen during World Wars I and II located, since 1926, in the coastal town of Stavern, four new memorial plaques were unveiled to honor foreign sailors killed on Norwegian ships during the second world conflagration. One of them was the Cuban JOSÉ LINO ORAMAS, born in 1909 in the city of Matanzas, who joined the Norwegian Merchant Navy on a date undetermined. He worked as a galley boy aboard the Norwegian freighter "Bonneville".

Consular Services

IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS:

1) All consular services must be paid to our Bank Account prior to the relevant application. Consequently, payment in cash is not accepted. Taking into account that bank transfers do not appear in our account statements immediately, we suggest to make the payment 48 hours in advance of the date you would like to receive the consular service, which cannot be offered until we have confirmation of payment.

2) Once the amounts for consular procedures have been deposited in the Embassy's bank account, all users have a maximum period of six months to contact or appear in person by appointment at the Consular Office in order to receive the service and/or request the return of the excess amount, if any.

3) Those interested in traveling to Cuba for tourism purposes must use the new electronic visa system called eVisaCuba, which will come into effect on Monday, August 12, 2024. 4) For other types of visas, the relevant application form should be completed and sent to the Embassy.

5) 7 days before the check-in for the flight to Cuba, all travelers must complete the form available at this link https://dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu/inicio. After doing so, they will obtain a QR code, which must be presented in digital or printed format to the airline representative at the boarding point and also to the Cuban authorities upon arrival to the country. It is mandatory.
