Embassy of Cuba celebrates Norway´s National Day
Oslo, Norway. - As part of the events organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. from Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, signed a congratulatory message to the people and government of that country, also ratifying the will to work for greater advances in bilateral relations. The ceremony was held at the Royal Palace and was attended by the diplomatic corps.
Norway Honors Sailors Fallen During World Wars I and II.
On May 8, at the Memorial to the Norwegian Sailors Fallen during World Wars I and II located, since 1926, in the coastal town of Stavern, four new memorial plaques were unveiled to honor foreign sailors killed on Norwegian ships during the second world conflagration. One of them was the Cuban JOSÉ LINO ORAMAS, born in 1909 in the city of Matanzas, who joined the Norwegian Merchant Navy on a date undetermined. He worked as a galley boy aboard the Norwegian freighter "Bonneville".
