World condemns Cuba's reinstatement on terrorist countries list

Pretoria, January 24, 2025.- Donald Trump's decision, just a few hours after taking office again as President of the United States, to include Cuba one more time in the arbitrary list of countries that are allegedly sponsors of terrorism, which is not recognised by any international authority, has been widely condemned by the world.

South African Communist Party reiterates solidarity with Cuban Revolution

Pretoria, 20 January 2025 - The South African Communist Party (SACP) has issued a strong statement of solidarity with Cuba, its people and its Revolution, following the announcement on 14 January by the US administration of Joe Biden to remove Cuba from the arbitrary and unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism. 

FOCUS welcomes Cuba's removal from the list of sponsors of terrorism

Pretoria, January 16, 2025.- The Friendship Association with Cuba in South Africa (FOCUS) welcomed the decision of the United States government to remove the island from the arbitrary and unilateral list of countries sponsoring terrorism, in which a supportive and friend country like Cuba should never have been, according to the text. The statement recognizes this decision was a step in the right direction, but the blockade remains in force.

US removes Cuba from SSOT list but blockade continues

Havana, January 14, 2025.- Cuba described its exclusion from Washington's State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list as a limited decision but in the right direction and in line with the world's demand. According to the statement from the Foreign Ministry, despite this decision, the White House still maintains the unjust and criminal economic blockade against Cuba, which causes suffering to the people.
