Havana, 29 July 2025. - Today, the 18th Joint Consultative Mechanism between Cuba and South Africa was held at the headquarters of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired by Cuba's First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerardo Peñalver Portal, and South Africa's Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, His Excellency Mr. Alvin Botes.

Cuba present at the Liberation Movements Summit
Johannesburg, 26 July 2025. Cuba's Chargé d'Affaires a.i. in South Africa, Ambassador Esther Armenteros Cárdenas, participated on behalf of Cuba in the Liberation Movements Summit, held this weekend in Kempton Park, Johannesburg. he ambassador's speech contained a message of solidarity with the just causes of peoples around the world, especially the Palestinian people.
Honouring Cuba in Africa
Pretoria, 23 July 2025. Yesterday afternoon, a wreath was laid at the monument bearing the names of Cuban internationalists who fell in Africa, in the Freedom Park complex, in the presence of Lázara Mercedes López Acea and the delegation accompanying her. The delegation is visiting South Africa to participate in the Global Meeting on MSMEs.
Association of South African Graduates in Cuba in solidarity with the island
Pretoria, 19 July 2025. The Association of South African Graduates in Cuba (CAASA) condemned the new measures announced by the current US administration against senior officials in the Cuban Communist Party and government. The organisation issued a public statement expressing its solidarity with the island.
