Strengthening ties with the Eastern Cape province

East London, February 6, 2026.- The premier of the Eastern Cape, Oscar Mabuyane, together with several members of the provincial government, welcomed the Cuban ambassador to South Africa, Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, and his accompanying delegation, who are on a road trip around several provinces of the country. Taking advantage of the visit, the ambassador visited a group of Cuban collaborators working in the Eastern Cape.

Strengthening academic ties with Walter Sisulu University

Mthatha, February 5, 2026.- As part of the tour around different provinces of the country, the Cuban ambassador to South Africa, Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, visited Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape province. He was received by the university's vice-chancellor and principal, Dr. Thandi Mgwebi, with whom he held a fruitful exchange on the possibilities for cooperation between the universities of both our countries.
