Embassy of Cuba in South Africa sends congratulations to South African women on the occasion of the National Women´s Day
Pretoria, August 9, 2022.- The Embassy of Cuba in South Africa extend warmest congratulations to all South African women on the occasion of celebrating the National Women's Day. Like Cubans, South African women have conquered many spaces in culture, sports, politics, foreign affairs and the society in general, promoting gender equality in multiple fields.
Cuba reaffirms its unreserved support to the “one China” principle
Havana, August 2, 2022.- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba states its firm rejection to the actions aimed at harming the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the People’s Republic of China; condemns interference in its internal affairs, and emphasizes its concern over the increasing tensions and further deterioration of the situation concerning Taiwan as a direct result of the aggressive policy and high military presence of the United States and its allies in the Taiwan Strait, military contacts and regular sale of weapons, actions all that undermine peace and international and regional peace.
Cuban students win gold medals in the South African International Ballet Competition
At the age of 18 years old, students Carolina Rodríguez Pérez and Pedro Domínguez Alcántara, from the Fernando Alonso National Ballet School, won several gold medals in the ninth edition of the South African International Ballet Competition. The dancers obtained the highest award in the classical and contemporary modalities, senior category, with the interpretation of the works Grand Pas de Deux Classique and Spirit, respectively. Carolina Rodríguez Pérez received the special award from the Jury.
