Zimbabwe's Solidarity Campaign with Cuba

Harare, September 1, 2025 – Zimbabwean friends of Cuba and graduates on the island announced today the launch of the Solidarity Campaign with the Caribbean country in the presence of Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa.

 

The Foreign Ministry's audio-visual dedicated to the Centennial Year of the Historic Leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, began the evening with moving remarks from the Head of Mission, referring to bilateral relations, the closeness between the two peoples, and Cuba's support for the liberation of Africa and, in particular, Zimbabwe.

 

Pleasant Exchange between the Cuban Ambassador and the Apostolic Nuncio to Zimbabwe

Harare, August 28, 2025 – The Cuban Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Susellys Pérez Mesa, held a pleasant meeting today with the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Janusz Stanisław Urbańczyk.

 

During the exchange, as part of the courtesy meetings between the Head of the Diplomatic Mission, Pérez Mesa and Urbańczyk talked about the history and bilateral relations between the antillean nation and the Holy See.

 

They also referred to the visits of the Supreme Pontiffs to the caribbean country.

 

Bindura University, a center for Cuba-Zimbabwe educational cooperation

Bindura, Zimbabwe, June 19, 2025 – The Vice-Chancellor of the Bindura University of Science Education, Professor Eddie Mwenje, received the Cuban Ambassador, Her Excellency Susellys Pérez Mesa, at the center, which has become a hub for bilateral educational cooperation.

Mwenje praised the contributions of the Cuban PhDs working at the University of Science Education and their contributions to the training of professionals, identifying new areas for collaboration.

Zimbabwe's Minister of Higher Education receives Cuban Ambassador

Harare, June 17, 2025 – Zimbabwe and Cuba are promoting the strengthening of bilateral relations in the fields of higher education, science, and innovation within the framework of the long-standing relationship between the two countries.

The Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation Development, Honorable Frederick Shava, received the Cuban Ambassador, Her Excellency Susellys Pérez Mesa, with whom he discussed the potential for cooperation in various areas.

Zimbabwean Student Exchange at the Cuban Embassy

Fruitful visit to Cuba by Executive Director of Zimbabwe's African Knowledge Institute

Havana, June 11, 2025 – The Director of Zimbabwe's African Knowledge Institute, Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi, completed a fruitful visit to Cuba seeking to strengthen bilateral ties in the field of culture, particularly heritage management. Muzawazi met with Deputy Minister of Culture Lizette Martínez Luzardo and signed a memorandum of understanding with the President of the National Heritage Council, Sonia Virgen Pérez Mojena.

Cuban Ambassador Talks with Canadian and European Union homologs

Harare, June 10, 2025 – Cuban Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa spoke with her homologs from Canada and the European Union (EU) in Zimbabwe as part of a courtesy visit to the diplomatic corps accredited to the African nation. The Head of Mission of the Caribbean country was received by His Excellency Mr. Adler Aristilde, with whom she discussed bilateral relations, the status of business, and projects with Canada. Pérez Mesa and the EU Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Jobst von Kirchmann, discussed the current state of Cuba's ties and the challenges and prospects for the bloc.
