Suva, January 13. Ambassador José Manuel Galego Montano, presented in a solemn ceremony, to the President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, the Letters of Credence that accredit him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in that Island State from the South Pacific. After inspecting the Guard of Honor and completing the formal protocol acts, both interlocutors held, in a cordial atmosphere, a fruitful exchange on bilateral ties and international politics.

The gratitude to Cuba for its friendship and valuable contribution to the training of health professionals was reiterated by the President of the Republic of Fiji, Major General (retired) Jioji Konusi Konrote, upon receiving at the State House Ambassador Carlos Manuel Rojas Lago, who concludes his term of duty in this country. With a call to defend the principles of the United Nations and strengthen its role on the international scene, the Cuban Embassy participated in the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of that Organization and for Human Rights Day, which took place in Nadi, to the west of the country.
Apia, September 4, 2017.- A Cuban delegation headed by the Director-General of bilateral affairs, Gerardo Peñalver Portal, arrived last night in this capital, to take part in the 48th Edition of the Pacific Islands Forum.
The Cuban diplomat kicked off activities Monday morning, being received by CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Samoa, Peseta Noumea Simi. Mr. Peñalver Portal expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and acknowledge the excellent organization of this event, which will last until Friday, September 8th.
Suva, April 2 - In a ceremony hosted at the Government House in this capital city, Cuba's Ambassador, Mario Alzugaray, presented to the President of the Republic of Fiji, H.E. Major General r Jioji Konousi Konrote, the letters that acredited him as a the representative of the Cuban Government in that country.
