CARACAS.— This Thursday, April 27, Venezuela will begin the procedure to withdraw from the Organization of American States (OAS) following fresh intervention attempts by the body at its headquarters in Washington, according to the country’s Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez.

Raúl receives President of the Seychelles

On the afternoon of April 27, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, received His Excellency Danny Faure, President of the Republic of the Seychelles, making an official visit to the country. 

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, during which the two dignitaries discussed the satisfactory state of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their willingness to continue strengthening cooperation ties, while also addressing issues on the international agenda. 

Cuba calls to abolish military bases

On April 26, the President of the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples (MovPaz), Silvio Platero, reiterated in Havana that the U.S. Naval Base in Guantánamo is the only one in the world which exists against the will of the people and government of the land on which it is located.
