Cuba calls to abolish military bases

On April 26, the President of the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples (MovPaz), Silvio Platero, reiterated in Havana that the U.S. Naval Base in Guantánamo is the only one in the world which exists against the will of the people and government of the land on which it is located.

Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, arrived in Athens this Friday, April 21, on an official visit to the European nation, reported Prensa Latina.

Rodríguez was received at the airport by the Director of the Department of Protocol of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aglaia Balta.

Over 100 thousand people visited Che Guevara Sculpture Complex in 2017

The attendance of more than 112,800 people to the Ernesto Guevara Sculpture Complex, in the first quarter of the year, about 2,100 more regarding the same stage of the previous year, shows the growing interest in the figure of Che.

Last March, 41,385 visitors visited the monument, a record for a month in the center's history, Maira Romero, director of the prestigious institution, told ACN.
Most of them are from different nationalities, including Germany, France, Italy and Argentina, she said.
