Cuba awards Kahinda Otafiire with the Friendship Medal

Kampala. On the afternoon of February 7, the Honorable Kahinda Otaffire, president of the Global Pan-African Movement, received the friendship medal awarded by the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.

 

The Cuban Ambassador Tania Pérez Xiqués pointed out that the Friendship Medal is a distinction awarded in recognition of a history of solidarity with Cuba and unconditional attachment to the defense of the Cuban Revolution.

 

Ambassador of Cuba on a new visit to the Uganda Management Institute

Kampala. On the morning of today, February 2, the Ambassador of Cuba Tania Pérez was received again at the Uganda Management Institute by its Director General Dr James L. Nkaata.

 

The meeting made it possible to receive the current status of the cooperation project between that Ugandan institution and the “Raúl Roa Kouri” Institute of International Relations in Cuba.

 

Dr Nkaata heads the delegation of that institution that will attend the Higher Education event “University 2024” to be held in Havana, Cuba next week.

State Minister of Education of Uganda hosts the Ambassador of Cuba.

Kampala. Today, February 1, the Honorable Dr. John C. Muyingo, State Minister of the Ministry of Education and Sports of Uganda, received the Cuban Ambassador Tania Pérez at the headquarters of that institution.

 

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat updated on the status of cooperation between higher education institutions of Cuba and Uganda; highlighting the historic cooperation project with Mbarara University, and the most recent ones with the Uganda Christian University and the Uganda Institute of Management.

 

Uganda together with Africa in solidarity with Cuba.

Mpumalanga. The Honourable Richard Todwong, Secretary General of Uganda's ruling party, National Resistance Movement, led the delegation of that sister African nation to the Seventh Cuban Solidarity Conference of the African continent, held in South Africa.

 

The renewed strengthening of relations between the governing parties of both nations constitutes an important pillar in bilateral political relations.

Burundi raises its voice in defense of the Cuban people.

Mpumalanga. The Right Honorable Reverien Ndikuroyo, Secretary General of Burundi's ruling party, Party for the Defense of Democracy-Forces for Democracy (CNDD-FDD), led the delegation of that sister African nation to the Seventh Conference Solidarity with Cuba of the African continent, held in South Africa.

 

This participation of the Burundian political leader is part of the historic and renewed relations between the government parties of Burundi and Cuba.
