The UN Special Committee on Decolonization adopted today a new resolution, by consensus, on the question of Puerto Rico, within an international context that reasserts that its final solution is not a domestic issue of the United States, but a subject that falls under the responsibility of the entire international community.
Cuba expects broad participation in world forum on sugar
Havana, 16 June 2022. Representatives from 17 countries, including Cuba, will participate in the 16th International Congress on Sugar and Derivatives, which will meet at the Hotel Nacional from June 20 to 24, they reported the eve at a press conference.
The general director of the Cuban Sugar Cane Derivatives Research Institute (Icidca), Mariela Gallardo, specified that 212 delegates will attend, including 179 from the host country.
Cuba appreciates UNICEF's support to Cuban policy in favor of children

Ambassador Yusnier Romero Puentes, Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, thanked UNICEF for the support provided for Cuba's efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the accompaniment during the recovery stage. UNICEF's work in the country has contributed to strengthening the capacities of health institutions, especially the centers dedicated to minors and pregnant women, he stated.
