Cuba: Reform the Security Council to make it transparent and democratic.
New York, 28 June 2022. Ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso Cuesta, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, participated today in the Open Debate of the Security Council on the "Implementation of note S/2017/507: Working methods", where he reiterated the island's support for a comprehensive and profound reform of the Security Council, including its working methods, which would make it a transparent, democratic and representative body.
Study of Soberana 02 vaccine wins Annual Immunology Award

The research work entitled “Design, Development and Preclinical Evaluation of Soberana 02, a Cuban vaccine against COVID-19” was granted the Jorge Gavilondo Cowley in Memóriam Annual Immunology Award, during the recent Latin American and Caribbean Congress of Immunology (Alaci-2022), reported the Finlay Vaccine Institute on its official Twitter account.
Cuba maintains support for Argentina's legitimate claim to the Malvinas Islands

Cuba reiterates its unrestricted support for the legitimate right of the Argentine Republic in the sovereignty dispute over the Malvinas Islands, which are part of its national territory, stated today Yumirka Fernández Palacios, Counselor of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations.
Cuban candidate elected to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)
New York, 23 June 2022. Yamila González Ferrer, PhD., Cuban candidate to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), has just been elected as an expert to this body for term 2023-2026.
The Cuban expert was elected with 143 votes from Member States of the United Nations. She was the candidate with the highest number of votes in her favor.
