Cuba denounces spurious list of the US State Department to certify countries during the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week

New York, 6 July 2020. Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodríguez Abascal, Deputy Permanent Representative and Chargé d´Affaires a.i. of Cuba to the United Nations, denounced today the inclusion of the island in the list of the US State Department of countries that allegedly do not fully cooperate with its counter-terrorism efforts, released on 13 May 2020. She described such action as arbitrary and unilateral.

Cuba denounces terrorist attack against its Embassy in Washington, during United Nations Virtual Counter-Terrorism Week

New York, 6 July 2020. Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodríguez Abascal, Deputy Permanent Representative and Chargé d´Affaires a.i. of Cuba to the United Nations, denounced today the terrorist attack against the Cuban Embassy to the United States on 30 April, and she declared that the government of the United States is still incapable to publicly condemn the act and recognize its terrorist nature.

AOSIS calls for support from international community towards debt solution for SIDS, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic

New York, June 30, 2020. In their AOSIS STATEMENT ON DEBT, the Alliance of Small Island Developing States (AOSIS) recognized that for the members of the Alliance the immediate relief and long-term recovery are vital.  It also emphasized that the way the international community aids vulnerable economies today will ultimately decide whether we all can attain the future we want.
