Cuba's two pandemics: The coronavirus and the US embargo

As soon as the first cases of COVID-19 were detected in Cuba, our country mobilised all its resources to contain the spread of the virus. Our healthcare workers go door to door checking people for possible symptoms. Those with symptoms are transferred to specially designated centres to receive treatment, mostly with medication developed by Cuba's own pharmaceutical and biotech industry. The medical examinations and treatments are all provided free of charge.  As of June 20, 85 people have died of COVID-19 in Cuba.

Cuban FM says Bolton's confessions confirm US danger

Havana, June 22, 2020.The confessions of former US National Security Advisor John Bolton confirm the danger posed by the United States to regional stability, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Monday.

A foreign policy that responds to interests of domination, based on the Monroe Doctrine, lies, manipulates and intimidates, while it violates international law, Rodriguez pointed out on his Twitter account.

President affirms that Cuba's example destroys US lies

Havana, June 16, 2020.  President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, asserted today that the example of the island destroys the slander and lies of the imperial hawks of the United States.

'The slanders and lies of the imperial hawks are destroyed when faced with our morale and example', Díaz-Canel wrote on his Twitter account, which he accompanied with the hashtags #CubaSalvaVidas, #SomosCuba and #SomosContinuidad.
